The Ft. Ripley Rebels blanked the Cuyuna Range Miners 6-0 Saturday in the 1st round of the North Division playoffs. Ethan Branum fanned 9 in a complete game effort, scattering 7 hits in his shutout. Logan Kalis drove in 3 runs, including a 1st inning sac fly and a 2-run triple in the 3rd. Ft. Ripley socred 4 runs in that 3rd inning as Jason Sather added an rbi single and Jim Kramer had a run producing groundout. Althouth Ft. Ripley only had 4 hits, they took advantage of 8 walks and 3 hit batters by Miner's pitchers Dain Barret and Reed Olander. Cuyuna Range had 7 different players collect a hit. Dain Barrett and Mac Jones had doubles. Ft. Ripley will host #2 seed Nisswa Sunday in the North winner's bracket game while Cuyuna Range will play an elimination game Sunday at St. Mathias.
